The pandemic affected everyone. The coronavirus has created a new "normal," altering our perceptions and priorities. We are constantly reacting to and anticipating a relatively unknown future because we are driven to question and evaluate our surroundings. As the world began to reopen, many studio spaces were left vacant. With the new hybrid and remote working styles, the sudden downsizing in the business affected the need for more studio space. This was the basis of the project on Dean street.

The property was located in central Soho and consisted of 5 storeys of isolated office space with a restaurant on the ground floor. The once-overflowing office/studio space is now deserted and empty. It was challenging to transform the offices into modern apartments. We have devised a design concept showcasing options comprising of types of bedroom layouts. We have preplanned 9 optional layouts of 1-3 bedroom flats with or without office space. After that, we calculated the different layouts for the building as a whole that would include a mixture of the types of Apartments. We made a conclusive decision to keep the existing building as it is, with minor changes in the interior adding in new partition walls.

Introducing to our clients the numerous options that can be considered allows the client to feel as if they are a part of the design process as we are.
